Uppingham Town C.C. Celebrity Cricket Family Sports Day from Kinetal on Vimeo.

On August 11th 2016 a blustery Uppingham Cricket Club held its second annual family sports day in aid of the Lords Taverners. A range of sports were available for the whole community to enjoy including fly fishing, boxing, netball, golf, inflatables and clay pigeon shooting. The highlight of the day was the cricket match between Uppingham members and the Taverners 11, who were given a rousing, motivating team talk in the dressing room by the great Barry Fry. The end result was an honest and hard fought draw which both sides seemed happy with.
The members of the club worked tirelessly for months beforehand to raise the incredible sum of £8,000 for the work of the Taverners. Marie Brown, Regional Development Executive for the Lord’s Taverners, East Midlands said ‘There is nothing more special than a day that brings together the whole family for a day of cricket, fun and raising money for a fantastic cause. The club members worked so hard to make it a success and we could not be more pleased that it was a fantastic day for everyone involved. We can’t wait until next year’
